Synopsis of the performance
The renowned Russian poet Samuil Yakovlevich Marshak wrote many children's works. He also adapted the fairy tale "The Twelve Months" by the renowned Czech writer Božena Němcová from a series of Christmas tales, beloved by audiences young and old.
In it, as in any other fairy tale, good and evil compete. The insulted stepdaughter represents kindness and sensitivity, while the stepmother and her daughter embody evil and envy. The stepdaughter is forced to obey her stepmother's instructions, even if they are irrational, so she goes into the forest in winter to pick snowdrops. However, the forces of nature in the fairytale world sympathize and help the poor girl. In the forest, she meets the twelve months, who are capable of the impossible and make flowers grow in winter, as they control time. Seeing the girl's kindness, sensitivity, and vulnerability, the brother months help her.
A very kind fairy tale about overcoming difficulties, with magical helpers and a happy ending.
The play "Twelve Months" has been running at the "S Ulitsy Roz" Theatre for several years now. It's a favorite New Year's production among our young audiences. The play is imbued with the spirit of magic and New Year's. Audience reviews praise the vibrant costumes created by costume designers Natalia Deli and Tatyana Dvoretskaya. Most of the costumes feature Slavic motifs. The play features music by P.I. Tchaikovsky, as well as cheerful, beloved folk songs such as "Gori-Gori Yasno," "Valenki," "Sanochki," and others, as well as carols. The action is accompanied by joyful round dances and dancing. The fairy tale "The Twelve Months" introduces children to the traditions and customs of Slavic celebrations: children will see typical holiday festivities, spectacular bonfire jumping, caroling, and, of course, greetings from Father Frost and Snegurochka. But we won't reveal all the secrets...
The play teaches that a kind heart can work miracles. Everyone strives to help a good person, while ignorance leads to disaster. Evil will always be punished, and good will triumph. And, in general, there are no obstacles to good deeds!
