Annotation
Based on the plot of A.S. Pushkin's "The Queen of Spades," playwright N. Kolyada brings new, unexpected accents to her play. The production provokes reflection on true and false patriotism, and mystical scenes help convey the author's message accurately. The audience is encouraged to understand the grotesque nature of the action unfolding on stage and the play's scenography, which evokes a multitude of associations.
The play won three top awards at the 2006 Gala Premiere Theatre Festival.
It is designed for audiences ages 17 and up. Running time: two hours, with one intermission.
